Ebay and purchasing with a credit card

Every so often we get queried whether or not the customer in question can purchase without a Paypal account, unknowing to us at the time you can purchase via credit card using a guest account.

Requirements/Restrictions:
  • Item must be purchased using Buy It Now.
  • You can purchase two items through eBay using a guest account, afterwards you are required to register as an eBay member
  • Items must be purchased from sellers who have a feedback score of 50 or higher and have a 98% positive rating.

Guest account Advantages:

  • Being able to track orders
  • Buyer protection for up to £500 (even for guest purchases).

How to purchase using a guest account:

By following these simple steps you can easily purchase online via eBay quickly and easily without having to register and setup a PayPal account.

Step 1: Product selection

Here I've selected one of our Screw Anchor range for this explanation, once on this page press the "Buy it now" Button" and proceed to the next stage.

Step 2: Guest account selection

eBay will next prompt either a log in, for someone with an account available or a Guest account option. By clicking onto the Guest option you will be taken through to the next purchase stage.

Step 3: Purchase Review

Here you will be requested to enter your postal address and to ensure that your product selection and other variables such as postage address etc are correct.

Step 4: Payment information

eBay will ask for you to sign into PayPal, obviously for this example we will be taking the "Don't have a PayPal account" option to continue as a guest.

The next prompt after this will be for your credit/debit card information to take payment, it will once again confirm your transaction total as well as billing and contact information.

Step 5: Payment Finalization/Confirmation

The final page of the transaction process will complete the purchase of the selected products and debit the account in question, the page re-iterates the postal address and any other vital information for a final check. Upon clicking the "Confirm Payment" button your purchase will be complete.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Over the past two weeks we’ve definitely been busy introducing even more products to our seemingly ever expanding niche ranges, ensuring our customers get their orders quickly and efficiently before their Christmas breaks and planning our up and coming changes for the new year!

The most recent additions being to our new KD-Fittings section! This new range giving availability of furniture fixtures in standardized sizes, these include Cross Dowel's, Connector Bolts and Connector Caps.

Click the link below:

Our Hand Plier Tool Kits as well as the Heavy Duty Hand Tools have been flying off the shelves! We are currently out of stock of the Hand Plier Kits, however we should be receiving some more within the early new year, so do not despair that you currently can’t find them on the website they should be available again soon!

Inserts for Green Oak?

Oak: A robust and sturdy wood used in many disciplines, primarily within construction and furniture settings. Unfortunately Oak has a significant level of tannic acid and therefore special care must be taken when appropriating a suitable fitting to be used alongside it. An area our Woodfit and KD-Fittings range can cater for, as well as being suitable for multitudes of other types of material in this area including chipboard, plywood and MDF.

The problem:

Green Oak however is a naturally more acidic than standard Oak timber which tends to corrode metals when there is still a presence of moisture within the wood. Mild steel or galvanised mild steel, will still almost inevitably corrode sooner or later, upon drying completely however the wood will stop corroding the parts.
Unfortunately, the acidic salts in the oak will not evaporate and are still available if the timber becomes wet once more and so the corrosion can recommence

The Answer:

The exception to this is Stainless Steel and some of the varying grades, which can be resilient to the tannic corrosion properties of green oak. Providing a significantly increased life expectancy of the structure being produced in comparison to using alternate fitting materials.

Reduced "carriage charges" !

Everyone is telling us that we should be exporting . . . . so to encourage this we've introduced new charges for 'Europe' and the 'Rest of the World'.

In the past the cost of carriage has prevented some companies taking advantage of the low costs associated with buying online in a worldwide market.

Foreign companies have shown interest in the past in our ranges of inserts for wood, plastic moulding and sheet metal applications, and our 'reduced' carriage charges should help companies throughout the world to save money!
